Spent a couple of days with a friend over the weekend...needless to say, we ate out...

Not Fair

So my desk area is actually part of the lobby of our office.  The joke for years has been that I wanted an office with a door...well..over the weekend the contractor came in and put up walls around my space, and there will even be a door...I am sitting here watching the guy sand the walls, oh ... and watching the dust land everywhere..

I get to enjoy the mess...then the office becomes someone else's and I get moved to a smaller space.

Ah well...now that the walls are up, I have decided I would have being in here..but don't tell anyone...their guilt trip is funny.

That Explains It!

So after suffering some pretty steady intense pain in my left foot (not to be confused with the pain in the right ankle from the break in 2008), I finally went to see if we could do something...holy bone spurs, Batman!  No wonder it hurts... someday the doc will have to go in and fix that...but I can wait..yup..yup...I can wait...

Summer's Bounty

I love the the fresh fruits available at this time of year...today it was raspberries and nectarines....and a little spreadable Boursin on some tasty little gluten free crackers...not because I need gluten free...rather because they are...tasty.

Alien Eyes

I was randomly snapping pics of Sabine..she looked so relaxed.  This pic has not been fooled with.  Those eyes are certainly enough to give one pause. 

Blow Out

Used one of those air can thingy-s to clean my keyboard to the work computer today.  Should have waited a few more days...I would have had a feast.

Inside Out

The DIA (Detroit Institute of Arts) has a program called Inside Out where they have reproductions of some of the art in their facility posted out and about at different locations.  My hometown has 5 or 6 pieces..this one hangs on the outside wall of the library.  I will have to look up the others in town and go check them out.  I think this is a great idea, don't you? 

Rent What?

I think if I was for rent by the hour, I would try to keep it a little less public.

Was at a wedding reception Saturday night and sat under this chandelier.  The crystals were beautiful...my date and I spent some time wondering if anyone would notice if we stacked tables and chairs so we could snag a few....decided they probably would so I took a picture instead...

This little guy was climbing the front wall the other day...he was only about an inch or so long..I guess he had been hanging around at the back of the building, but he must have needed a change of view...

Sunday Dinner

I found this recipe for Banh Mi and it looked like it might be tasty...so today is the day.  While the meat is marinating, I will head out and run some errands and by the time I get back it should be ready...I'll let you know how it goes....fish sauce, hoisin, sriracha, sugar, honey, garlic, green onions...who'd a thunk it...me, the original picky eater using those ingredients....not me....

Rebirth

I got my first tattoo a month after I finished treatment for breast cancer.  Something I had secretly wanted to do most of my life...It was the first item on my life list.  I got 2 more when I had my 5 year anniversary.

Ten years ago this week, I finished up my treatment and tonight I got my 10 year ink.  The phoenix is a symbol for rebirth, so I thought it fitting to be the subject for this milestone.  I am, after all, a somewhat different person today than I was back when this journey began.

Yeh...yeh...yeh....I know...I have to live with for the rest of my life....but hey....I've already lived a good portion of the rest of my life...

Don't Be Afraid...

...of the girl in the shades....visited the opthamologist earlier in the week and got my eyes dilated.  Didn't have my shades with me so they gave me these handy dandy slide-behind-your-glasses shades.  It was really hard trying to keep my head down and still drive myself back to work.  No retinal detachment, tho, so it's all good.
