Junk Heap

The first thing I noticed when Justin dropped me off at the airport was this "junky" penguin.  He is very cool and made out of old scrap metal...Not sure Atlanta is the place for penguins...especially in the heat they have been having...

Suspended...

Most of the flowers in the area of my patio are fairly terminal, but I was able to find one bud that wasn't totally gone.. don't ya just love the way this looks like it is suspended...

Out of Gas

Intellectually, I know that when the little bell dings and this comes up on my mileage display I have approximately 50 miles before I truly hit empty and land on the side of the road.  So why do I panic so when I see it.  After all, it is only 13 miles from home to work.  Hmmm...maybe it is the memory of sitting in the middle of the bridge over the Hudson River in the middle of the night after running out of gas on a trip back east...actually it crosses a really deep gorge that the Hudson created over the centuries...and it shook with every passing semi...

So I had to stop at the doc's the other day to pick up a 'scrip.  Imagine my surprise to see this...I guess he (anyway, looks like a he but you never know these days) was the driver for whoever was a patient at the med center.   Guess he preferred to people watch outside rather than hang in the office waiting...

Road Kill

Summer roadkill in Michigan...you cannot drive anywhere without seeing the mangled corpses of tires that didn't survive the trip.  It is at its worst during pothole season, but summer takes it toll also.
